I also recently found out that there is going to be a second book that is going to be told from Finny’s point of view, this October. Then of course my least favourite character was Jamie, wow, this guy was so manipulative and controlling and I really just wanted to slap him every time he said or did something. My favourite character was Autumn, I mean how could it not be? After everything you go through with her, it’s hard not to love her.

You were feeling by the end of everything she was feeling because you were so emotionally attached to her at this point. From her happiest moments to her saddest. You got to see Autumn as a truly deep and developed character as you got to see and feel everything that she went through. However, once you finish the book and sit with your feelings for a bit, you realise all that ‘useless’ information made the story so much more heartbreaking. There were times in the book when I didn’t understand why we got so much backstory and information that at the moment felt useless. This book truly was a rollercoaster of emotions. And how she is juggling her future plans, her boyfriend Jamie and their friend group, and trying to deal with her complex relationship with her ex-best friend/neighbour, Finny. The majority of the story is about her in high school and how she is coping with the changes in her life. This story is told from Autumn’s point of view. Told through three different perspectives, If Only I Had Told Her is a love story brimming with truth, tragedy, and the unexpected bonds that heal us.Okay, so I finished this book a couple of days ago and I have tried to write this review multiple times but I was having such a hard time explaining how this made me feel. How could she not know? And how is he supposed to support and protect Finn when heartache seems inevitable?Īutumn surrounds herself with books and wants to write her own destiny-but one doesn’t always get a new chapter and fate can be cruel to those in love. That’s Sylvie, and Finn would never hurt her, so there’s no way Autumn could know how he truly feels. She’s not just the girl next door or his mother’s best friend’s daughter, she is his everything. If only I’d told her that I loved her years ago, then I wouldn’t be here now.įinn has always loved Autumn.

Perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Jenny Han. An intensely emotional and gripping companion novel to Laura Nowlin’s USA Today and New York Times Bestselling novel If He Had Been With Me about the love that both breaks and heals us.
